8th July 2010 - Elise's baby news!!!
We would all like to congratulate Elise and her family on the birth of her baby boy, Max Gabriel. After what seemed like the longest pregnancy on the planet (especially to Elise I'm sure), Elise delivered a bouncing 8Ib baby on Wednesday the 30th June at 03.26am.Elise will now be kept even more busy as she already has a daughter Maya and another son Ethan!
Congratulations Elise!!!
15th June 2010 - World Cup fever
Even though I happily admit I am not the world's biggest football fan (give me rugby, cricket, golf over football!), it is hard not to get carried away with World Cup fever. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the fact that it is in South Africa (homeland of our chiropractor Nina) seems to make it even more special. As well as the controversial 'Vuvuzela', the whole African style of celebrating seems to really be infectious. It also seems to have a deeper meaning. Its very soul warming to see the feeling of hope staging such a massive event brings to a country with such a turbulent recent history, as well as to see different cultures mixing and celebrating together. For any footie fans out there (or just general sports fans), lets remind...Read More...
14th May 2010 - Elise on maternity leave and ramblings!
My fellow much loved chiropractor Elise is now on maternity leave. Elise only has 5 weeks to go till the birth of her third child, so we will keep you all up to date with her progress. On the subject of children - how times have changed... I am sitting here on a Friday night with a glass of wine typing this blog!!!What a weird few weeks we have had recently. First the volcanic ash. Then we have the return of winter - freezing. Then we have the election, with what has been an amazing week. I have never known so many people to be gripped by the election campaign. I even had patients having election debate parties (even though they are both American and could not vote). I know politics is supposed to be a taboo subject, but I don't mind sticking my neck out and saying I...Read More...

1st April 2010 - Grow your Own this Easter!
Boost your health this Easter - Grow your own! There are sooo many benefits to growing your own fruit and vegetables. And living in London doesn’t mean you can’t try it. All you need is a a window with plenty of light, as many crops can be grown in containers.
The benefits are financial, environmental but most of all healthy!

18th March 2010 - Spring time madness
What an amazing bout of weather we've been having recently (yes you can tell I'm British and love to talk about the weather!). I have been out in the garden (a new interest of mine) and last weekend saw me back out rowing again as I went for a single scull on a beautiful Sunday morning. It seems all of you have been busy too, as the clinic has been particularly busy over the last two weeks. Chiropractors definitely see seasonal patterns. Gardening, spring DIY and the uptake of sports and fitness at this time of year always leads to the clinic getting busy at this time of year! Sports and activities impact our bodies immensely, especially when we return after a break. So it's no wonder our golfing patients are all calling now the greens are up and running, and all our triathletes...Read More...

3rd february 2010 - Paediatric seminars and Lyana's experience of chiropractic in pregnancy
I recently completed the 4 weekend paediatric seminar series by renowned paediatric Chiropractor Steve Williams. The course looks at the chiropractic and cranial approach to treating children. It focuses on mainly gentle, indirect cranial and fascial releases. As well as furthering my skills in tthe treatment of babies and children, I have recently been on the receiving end of chiropractic in pregnancy and babyhood. In December 2008 I gave birth to our beautiful baby daughter Kiriana (although it seems funny that she is not a baby anymore and is already a toddler!). I loved being pregnant and was very comfortable, a large part of which I feel was down to the fact that I had regular chiropractic treatment throughout my pregnancy. I only suffered from mild heartburn and tension...Read More...
10th January 2010 - We welcome Mark, our new Sports Therapist!!!
We welcome Mark Findley to our team!!! I had first had the pleasure of meeting Mark quite a few years agno when he was in his last year of his Sports Therapy degree and was undertaking practitioner observations. It struck me how passionate, informed and dedicated he was, and we have kept in touch ever since. Over the past few years, he has referred to me many of his different athletes he has been involved in (ice hockey teams, footballers). I also saw him for a diagnosis on a knee problem I was suffering from when training for a half marathon. So due to the need for increasing our spinal rehab team, I took no time in contacting Mark. Mark Findley is an established member of Society...Read More...
1st January 2010 - NICE guidelines
Hampstead Chiropractic Clinic welcomes recent guidelines from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) on Lower Back Pain. As many of you may have seen in the media recently, manipulative therapy got the thumbs up from NICE with regard to treatment of chronic low back pain.NICE has recommended up to nine sessions of spinal manipulation or 10 sessions of acupuncture to be provided for people with persistent, non-specific, low back pain over a 12 week period. £16m worth of NHS funds are to be allocated for the use of ‘manipulative therapies’ such as chiropractic and osteopathy as a result of these guidelines. 20th December 2009 - Xmas dinner
On Thursday the 17th December, La Brocca in West Hampstead braced itself for the Hampstead Chiropractic Clinic Christmas party. It ended with us dancing on tables, singing in the restaurant and other rock and roll antics that we can't mention...... No, only joking, it was a lovely relaxed evening that gave us all a chance to have a social catch up. Great food, lots of wine and a good way to see in the festive period!Testimonials
I have coming to the clinic for 3 years after having a slipped disc in my low back 4 years ago. When I fell pregnant last year, I was really anxious as to how my back would cope with carrying a baby both during and after the pregnancy. I was worried I would 9 months of pain. However, having Chiropractic care both before and during my pregnancy ensured I had a comfortable pregnancy with not one bit of pain. The treatment was gentle and I was given lots of helpful advice of how to sit/sleep etc. I can't recommend Chiropractic treatment or the clinic enough!
