Frequently Asked Questions
The FAQs below will answer many of any questions you may have but please do feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have. We'll be happy to advise you without obligation to use our sports therapy services. How qualified is my Sports Therapist?
A sports therapist is a qualified health practitioner working with patients from the general public to within the sports field. Every sports therapist has undergone extensive training through a minimum of a 3 year BSc (Hons) degree and/or a 1 to 2 year Masters (Msc) degree pathway in order to become fully qualified. During the degree pathway, sport therapists undertake a minimum of a year’s intensive clinical placement.
Once qualified, sport therapists must undertake continual professional development every year by attending courses in order to maintain high clinical proficiency, stay up to date with the latest research and to remain an accredited health practitioner. All sport therapists are accredited and validated by the Society of Sports Therapists.
Will my spinal rehabilitation hurt?
Our highly qualified sports therapists work within a pain free range during remedial exercise therefore in most cases there will be no pain associated within the treatments. However a patient may experience muscle soreness, a common but safe post exercise outcome.
Each patients treatment begins at an appropriate level in terms of the irritability, severity and type of spinal disorder, unique to the individually. The sports therapist will progress each spinal exercise safely in accordance to the patient’s success and ability, with no detrimental effect or relapse to the current treatment disorder.
How many treatments will I require?
Each treatment will be formulated dependent on each individual case and the progress of the patient in regards to their condition and the underlying factors which contributed to the injury. Treatment number will be dependent on the success which includes accurate execution of the spinal or rehabiliatve exercises prescribed and the patients compliance to perform their rehabilitation outside the clinic. Full functional fitness will be attained in the most appropriate, efficient, safest and shortest time possible.
